Marmaris is one of the world's greatest sailingcentres. The only problem is that when you reach the head of the almostland-locked natural harbour that is the Bay of Marmaris, you have todecide whether to sail Southwest-Northwest towards Borzburun and Bodrum,or Southeast-Northeast towards Gocek, Fethiye, Gemiler, Kalkan, and Kas. In a single week there is no way that you can do justice to the area. This is the best that we can suggest! The itinerary is in order as youleave Marmaris. Kumlu Buku is still within Marmaris Bay. Two pairs ofanchorages are very close together. Near to Marmaris, Ciftlik andGerbekse and within a mile of each other, and Serce and Kale Koy withina couple of miles of each other. We have therefore set out the itineraryas though it were a one-way trip.

Best is to fly into Dalaman Airport from where we can arranged transfer down to Marmaris Marina. (60-90 minutes).

Sailing Turkey | Marmaris and subregions:

Near Marmaris, at Icmeler, the hazy mountains of the interior slope down to sandy beaches. Under blue skies, the clear sea is ideal for all types of water sports. Many find this area so irresistible that they stay longer than originally planned. And there are some excellent accomodations here, in which you can prolong your contact with nature. As you drive down from the high mountains into the village of Turunc the scene opens out onto the spectacular blue waters beyond the natural harbor. The village itself is small and scattered around the bay. Most of the restaurants border the beach. A few bars and restaurants farther back from the water's edge offer fresh fish and superb views.
